I did a little mod on the 6505 in RvIII. I thought that the default 6505 sounded crap on "normal" settings so I tweaked the tubes and stuff to make it sound the way I like it. What I mean with normal settings is that you have to crank the master to like 9 to make it sound decent, it is too trebly if the master is low on the default settings.

Anyway I have 2 clips here, I need an opinion on which tone I should use for a small thrash metal project I will record later. The amp settings are identical but one of the clips is using 2 different cabs.

The 2nd one sounds great, Frank. Is there any chance you could share that tweak for the 6505 and other details in that setup? I pretty much gave up on Revalver III, but that tone you've got sounds great.

Nice tone dude, i prefer the second sample, more solid (from my shitty headphones).
How did u record guitar(and can u show revalver settings?)

Thanks man! :) Guitar --> HiZ input on soundcard --> Revalver --> Cubase

I can post a preset, or a module preset if you don't have the full version. Will do it later.

Thanks man, ok here are the presets, just load the modules from the screenshot. Click the "L" button on the modules and load the presets for each module. The cab module will not find the impulse but load it anyway and use the GuitarHack impulse called Inch off edge-1.

BTW you have to have the TSS tubescreamer installed. It's freeware.

Oh and I might have changed the presence to like 9 and the resonance to max in the clip.

love u! :)

Sounds REALLY good! I prefer the second one, but both are amazing.
If you could share presets, that would me great!.

I posted above a little folder containing a screenshot, and presets of all the modules, you can load them and save a preset from that.

abyss i think that mix rocks! what post processing are you doing on guitars after revalver? And what plugs are u using on your master bus? I can't seem to get close to your final sound!!

just tried your settings in a mix:

however, with that preset and my guitar I think the tone is pretty overgained...
with a lil bit of tweaking it could sound pretty neat with my setup I guess.

what do you think?

Sounds great but yes a bit overgained, it could be 3 things: either you haven't used the input "learn" button to normalise the input volume into revalver or your input gain into your HiZ on your soundcard is a bit too cranked, or maybe your strings are simply closer to the pickups than mine. Probably the latter. But the song works great with that amount of gain.

When I record, the single tracks sound undergained but with 4 guitars together it sounds nice and tight IMO.

BTW Here is a small clip of the project I'm working on:
