Reverse Echo/Delay?

Just wonderign guys i dunno if it makes any sense but recently ive been tryuing to get this sort of effect after heariung a few songs for at the gate's "slaughter of the soul" and carcass "necroticism" there is a sort of a delay or a echo of the word before the vox actually sings it....how is that done cause i tried using simple delay effects and so on but it didnt work?

Hey Doom!

Quite easy:

1) Record vocals
2) Reverse the wav file of the vocal part where you want the effect to appear.
3) Process it with a long reverb (you have to print the reverb to the wav though, send or insert fx won't work).
4) Reverse the processed wav file to normal again.

Done!

Or... record it to the two inch. Flip the tape. Run the track through the delay, and record the return. Flip the tape back over and you're done.

Some things are much easier with a DAW, aren't they?
