You can make an impuls-response of any delay but you cant make an impulse-response of the tape-part of the unit.

Because tape reacts as an un-linear system.

Err.. no, it will repeat actually.

You can't capture the tape non-linearity (harmonic distortion), but the linear part is going to repeat. If you look at the deconvolved IR, you'll see spikes at different time positions, delayed by the delay you've setted on the unit.

Yeah I've found space echo impulses online and they suck but they do have echos. Good impulses would need to be long like 5 seconds and that would likely eat cpu badly.
