What do you think and which one would you choose between these two?

If you need more options and more in's and out's for outboard. I would just go with the fireface 400

if you intend to track drums, the ff400. if not and you just want good portable conversion and tracking DI's and perhaps the occasional vocal, and MUST have laptop portability, then the babyface. if you run a macbook, apogee duet would probably be a better choice.

Well, mainly for recording DI's on the road...and vocal...
What I'm really interested in are preamps and converters that these cards have. I asked about that on RME forum etc. but nobody replied. So, do you know something about that?
