Very nice pics.

I was doing a metal show on college radio in the early 90's and i got to interview Bush on the phone( i think i have the tape somewhere), but did not get to meet him. Was he as cool as he seemed then???
Yes! John is fuckin way cool! As is the rest of the band.

Yeah, yeah. But I'm glad to say I'm not a fan of the Denver Donkeys.

Now , see, I love the Cleveland Browns, but when John Elway played in Denver, I loved Denver all those years and rooted against the Browns. He was always my favorite football player ever. Still is. I have cards, pictures, plates, posters, Starting Lineup action figures, etc. I loved Terrell Davis and big mouth Shannon Sharpe too.

I am not a sports fan, but I grew up in Cleveland. Isn't that illegal to like Elway there?

I think it's illegal to not like the fucking Denver Donkeys here! I'd proudly get arrested for being Anti-Broncos!
I'm so sick of hearing about the fucking Broncos around here every-fucking-year! Makes me want to buy a winter home in some state where people could give a fuck about football (like me)!

Well, if that's what you're looking for, you can't come here. The Cardinals are everywhere, even though they suck beyond measure. They're on the news every night somehow in the off-season, and now that pre-season shit is starting, it's pathetic. I don't know if it gets worse every year, or if I have less patience with it every year, but there it is. And now we get to hear about the Broncos all the time, too, because of Plummer. I thought when he left Arizona, he left Arizona. Silly me.

That's fucking blasphemy in Ohio dude! They (the Bronco's) were the bane of my existence for several seasons (87,88, and 90 mostly).

Oh, I know. I kind of grew up hating the Browns. My dad hated Art Modell so we weren't allowed to root for the Browns. We all picked up other teams. My friends all hated watching football with me cause I liked the Steelers and Broncos. My mom and sister loved the Cowboys. These were all big teams in the late 70's going to the Super Bowl, so we latched on at the time and became big fans. Anyways, when Elway came along, I just loved the Broncos. He was an awesome football player and QB.

My wife and my best friend still respect me and that i loved Elway, but in those Browns days they hated his guts!! My friend told me he couldn't have been real good friends with me back then. :) We didn't become good buddies till around 91.

Unlike BRAT and THRAXDUDE, I do love football. It's my favorite sport. It's the only thing me and my DAD ever did together growing up--watch football on Sundays.

But I cannot understand why they would even bother discussing the Cardinals every year BRAT--They do absolutely suck.

I can see getting lots of coverage this training camp because of signing Emmit Smith. But I don't know why anyone would have paid them that much attention before. Hell, the only time they ever sold out was when the Cowboys would play there and the Dallas fans would show up. I guess it is good, though, that even though the team is bad, they still get the coverage. It means someone likes them no matter how bad they are, and that is what being a fan is about.

Point 1-I know what that's like. I grew up in NY. In my family, liking the Yankees got your ass kicked by Grandma, so no one did it. It was Mets or certain death. I'm still a Mets fan, although it hurts to watch lately.

Point 2-I liked football when I was younger, before they turned into a bunch of sissies. I remember seeing players get all fucked up and injured, go get taped and finish the game. Now they get a hangnail and they're out for x-rays and MRIs and 16 updates on their "condition" during the game. It's just gay now. But I'll watch if there's nothing else on (rare-I've been known to watch a race instead). And I used to win a shitload of money on football pools.

Point 3-Before they got their stadium deal (I voted that day just to vote no on it, but they got in 51-49) Bidwell would threaten to move to California several times a year. I really wish he would have done it. The worst part about the Cardinals is that they do really well in pre-season and then maybe 3-4 weeks into regular season is when they start to blow. But for those two months, all you hear about is how great they are, as if there's no pattern. Denial must be a really nice place, because a lot of people live there.

Good point. I root for the Cleveland Indians, good or bad, and this year, is really bad mostly. Being a fan can suck.

BRAT, I hate the Yankees myself and my best friend's girfriend is from NY and loves em. We get into it with her all of the time. I hear you on the sissies in football. Fred Taylor hurts himself every week and hasn't even played a full season yet. There are still the warriors that go out there week in and week out and those usually tend to be some of my favorite players. That one year Emmitt Smith dislocated his shoulder and went out and played an awesome game so the Cowboys could get a bye week in the playoffs, or Elway limping out to play the Steelers in the 80's in a 1st round playoff game. That's cool stuff. In their defense, I will say this--the people playing now tend to be phenomenal athletes--or steroid freaks--but either way, there's guys that weigh 300 pounds that run much faster than me--so I guess you do wanna be as close to 100% as you can so as not to be killed. :) :)
