Eden’s Fall – Harmony of Lies Review

Whacking together meaty aspects of thrash, death and classic heavy metal, Chicago-based Eden’s Fall are a band with a wide-range of appeal judging by their debut album, “Harmony of Lies”. Full of Iron Maiden-style twin guitar solos and early Metallica-esque thrashing along with the chops of Exodus and Nevermore, songs like “Blur the Lines” and “Chemical Dreams” kick harder than Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon.

With the vocals on “Harmony of Lies” also being clean – and occasionally reminiscent of Blind Guardian’s Hansi Kursch - for the majority of the record (as opposed to drunken Flemish or whatever it is that metal bands sing in these days), what we have here is a nine track melodic assault made specifically for fans of good and proper US heavy metal. (4/5)
