Now, the ones who haves the SyX debut-CD can compare his picture with this one!! They're the same!! muahahahahahha!!!

Rod was asked to join the band after auditioning in 1988. His vocal style and sound was a mix between Tommy Shaw (Styx) and Michael Sweet (Stryper). Vocally, he was taking Overlorde to a new level.

Hmm...
only three replies by now. I guess most of people here don't really care much about Rod or SyX s/t.
I still would like to add that I appreciate what he has done for Symphony X. He may not have been the greatest vocalist out there, but I still like the self titled album very much and also there were many great emotionally sang pieces like Premonition, Shades Of Grey, A Lesson Before Dying.
So let this be a thread dedicated to Rod Tyler.

Rod Tyler is a poor frontman. The big reason Symphony X didn't get big with him as singer is his poor vocals and uninspired arrangements. Unless he has done an incredible turnaround, I don't see how he could ever be succesfull. My 2 cents anyway..

I think they misspelled his last name. It's not "Loiza", it "Looza"! Ha ha.

too bad Russell didn't join when they originally asked him too. Then the self titled album would actually be pretty good.
