What do you guys recommend for a room mic?

Latest tape op made a suggestion to throw a mic in a garbage can in the room, you can get some sweet sounds that way. Never tried it.

You know that's kinda how they did Darth Vaders voice in the original Star Wars.
They recorded Mr. Jones vice, then put it through a speaker hung in I think a gas tank? then they dropped a mic in and recorded it.

Check out the AT4050. It's the 57 of condensers! One baddass mic!

Second that. Might work for acoustic guitar maybe, don't think I ever tried though.

Used a TLM103 as a room mic tracking drums recently, worked pretty well.

What about the Studio Projects C1? Reasonably priced and it gets pretty good reviews.
