Rooming during PP XI

ok so far i see that almost everybody is going for the Armored, or any close venue hotels, also see that the super 8 is a economic option, but with a bug extra bag:zombie:. so i am wondering if someone or a group wants to roommate in a close venue hotel?:kickass:

is the Armored totally booked already?

The "Artmore" (yeah, very punny name) is sold out, last I heard. There may be some cancellations closer to the event, but as I recall, they made it particularly brutal if you cancel after a certain point.

Yeah, it's where I ended up with my Priceline bid this year.

If you're trying to save money and willing to stay a slightly farther distance, you can try Priceline Name Your Own Price. You can choose area so you'll only get hotels in midtown but midtown is a pretty large area and star level. I've now stayed at Hotel Indigo, Georgian Terrace, and will be at Hotel Midtown Atlanta this year. Paying just over $260 for a 4 night stay (that's total, not per night) but I made the bid back in October '09. You pay immediately when the bid is accepted and there's no cancellation unless you get the insurance. Basically, only use this if you're 100% positive you're going. I've never had a problem with the site and I always use it for my trips.
Check out betterbidding.com so you can get an idea of the possible hotels at various star levels. Just realize that if any of the hotels really close to Centerstage are on the list, you won't get them because the hotels know when Progpower is and know they can rip us off.

Wow, you got a real bargain. i cannot bring myself to say how muh I paid for the 5 nights but I went through a UK booking agency so i guess that what I pay for!

Anyhow, good to know there are others in the same 'gaff' as me - someone to share the ride/walk whatever back after the gig! Pm me nearer the time and we can meet for a brew!

Hi, lestatdelioncourt! First, welcome to the forum! Glad to hear you're attending PPUSA XI.

That is correct. The Artmore is completely booked.

As others mentioned, I would suggest looking at the following sites:
http://progpowerusa.com/xi/hotels/
http://betterbidding.com (name your own price on Priceline)
http://vrbo.com (enter Midtown Atlanta or Atlantic Station)

I hope that this helps!

I was an RI fan for years...until the manager there gave me a smarmy answer two years ago when I mentioned the astonishing rise in the price of their rooms during PP.

I hate the price gouging at the Residence, but still stay there, due to the combination of proximity to the venue, full kitchen, and no-smoking policy. By the way, I finally discovered this year that you can get a pretty decent discount if you are a member of AAA. Since this will be my 5th year attending, I have been seriously kicking my own ass for not thinking about this sooner...

Hey Jen - Love the new avatar...beautiful pic!

Oh yes, ALWAYS check to see if they have discounts for AAA, Farm Bereau, government agency, or any professional organization you might be a member of. For example, members of the American Counseling Associatioin get discounts at certain hotels. Just none of the ones around Center Stage. I checked. But most places do offer a AAA discount, which is always lovely to have. I love AAA. :)

I'm going over from the Uk - first PP and first trip to USA! Staying at the Midtown Atlanta for 5 nights from 7th.

Anyone else staying there?

This is also my first PP!!:rock:
I am staying at the Midtown as well, starting the 9th. You or anyone else can PM me if you want to meet up.

FYI If anyone has AAA, I saved about $100.00 over the Travelocity/Orbits prices.

I'd offer some crash space in my suite at the Artmore, but I have a strict "no vampires" rule.

Err, more seriously, I've backed down into a smaller suite for 2010, so I probably won't have much -- if any -- extra room. :(

Hey Pellas, do you still have some extra room?...and if you do how much it would be?

Heh... Hey Pellaz, if you get any vampires you can just send them down my way. I don't mind letting them in :-)

The Artmore is okay. The renovations helped some, but the rooms just aren't that great. The patio is an exceptional place to socialize though. The Residence Inn still gets my vote - fresh modern rooms, short distance from venue, food next door, all-night party patio, awesome staff...

Hey Shokrok do youstill have some room?... and if you do how much?
