Is this album worth checking out? I really like Russel's voice on most of SX's albums, but i wasn't that happy with the Odyssey but i know he's a great vocalist. I see him as a rock n' roll singer fronting a prog metal band and that kinda makes hime unique. So whats his solo album like?

Atomic Soul actually got me back into Rock n' Roll as a whole, and that's saying alot.

I would surely buy this album if I had some extra money, but unfortunately I don't. I have to save money for new computer and so on. Maybe later tho.

It's a great album, but it's nothing like Symphony X. It's also not progressive (save for one song)... it's a rock album, plain and simple. Romeo plays guitar on a lot of it, but not in the Symphony X style.

If you want to hear some more Russell outside of Symphony X, check out The Battle by Russell Allen and Jorn Lande. It's like a cross between Russ' solo album and Symphony X.

This album is gold. Jorn is gold. There are some comments on this thread that are simply beyond foolish.

l agree...and Jorn walked on Russel on "The Battle" release even though he obviously held back & didn't go over the top with his delivery. Hopefully, Russel will bring his A game to the next one.

Atomic Soul is Russel's best material to date. Definitely suits his style.
