Okay, I just got an API A2D.
I was just wondering if you guys have any info for me on S/PDIF connections vs AES connections. Is there any advantage of going with one over the other? I see AES is aimed more at the "professional" level and S/PDIF more the "consumer" level... but is there any difference in sound quality? The only info I could really find was that S/PDIF supposedly aren't that great for long cable lengths, but I'm probably going to keep it at about 10 ft.
The reason I ask is because I already have a S/PDIF breakout cable for my RME 9632, but I'd have to get their other digital breakout cable (which has both S/PDIF and AES connectors) to be able to use AES, and I'm wondering if it's worth it or if should just stick with S/PDIF.
Anybody have any info?
