Saddam Hussein is fucking dead.

Yeah, it costs me an arm and a leg to pull out my bitchin Camaro(which gets about 1/4 mile per gallon:lol: . Just think how much drag racers are getting hosed.
Hey, Dave, you look exactly the same as you did 10 years ago.:kickass: I guess I look the same too, nobody needs to see my scrappy mug though.:heh:

OTOH, it may be the last manufacturing job in the states, I doubt they'll farm this one out to china, so we'll at least have two places to work. we can build nukes or work at wal-mart. In that light I say pass the soldering iron and the plutonium

what a mighty fine read.

just to add my 2pence. i 'heard' (because i really don't fully believe anything i am told or read anymore in regards to world affairs) that although oil may have a small role in the motives for the war on Iraq, the 'main' reason was that a lot of high ranking u.s. politicians have high stakes and shares in companies that feed, clothe and arm their us troops, and that there is no better way to see a return from these companies than with a war, never mind one that doesn't seem to have an end.

i am interested in reading your thoughts in regards to the 'Short Change' internet documentary aimed at un-vailing the '911 conspiracy' which seemed to have started this whole 'lets liberate the middle east' movement. i cannot deny that i personally feel compelled to believe the video being the cynic that i am, but it would be cool to hear other people opinions.

i think the whole Saddam being executed thing is outrageous especially given the circumstances though, besides i don't think murder is ever justified by murder. what makes me throw even more are the American patriots that are celebrating his death like its a good thing or as if they have somehow 'succeeded' like its all been worth-it or something. i can understand why the iraqis are celebrating, but anyone not from iraq has fucking nothing to be happy about.

i just cant believe we got roped into it all, not that i blame Tony Blair, it is in the interest for the UK (and every nation i guess) to stay in the US's good books. tbh it is the only thing that makes me want Scotland to go independent haha.

First, so you know where I'm coming from when I call bullshit on the 9/11 conspiracy, don't think I'm a pro-America zealot. I fucking hate government. I hate its inefficiency, I hate its underhandedness, and I consider forcible coercion at that level to be immoral in over 99.9 % of scenarios. I hate the way that the American government has capitalized on the fucking idiocy of its subjects, and I would laugh with joy if the current system sank like a brick thirty seconds from not. I am also willing to bet that I am among the most cynical people you will ever meet - ever - and that I am about as skeptical about anything as a person can be.

I have also gone into this 9/11 conspiracy issue, and it is complete and utter fucking bullshit. I think it's a conspiracy enough that a bunch of religious zealots - from actually fairly normal backgrounds, with as good an education as their region of the world could give - fucking blew things up on the scale that they did. I also think that they fucked a lot of things up (not attacking Indian point, not having major government buildings be struck first, not hiding as well as the average member of this forum could if he had a neon fucking sign saying TERRORIST hanging above his flat) and that there are some very odd things. But controlled demolition, the inside job thing, a lot of media 'miscues' that they like to claim, is bullshit. They like to make claims based on 'scientific fact' about the way the buildings fell, but anyone who has ever taken a basic physics class can see holes in their arguments... they give WAY too much credit to the government in saying it could have pulled that off... not to mention they're lying out of their asses on count after count. There have been a ton of debunking sites going into this, and when you have a large enough skeptic movement actually looking into this, as there has been from moment one, you know you're going to hit solid enough ground to say that shit didn't happen like the 9/11 conspiracy movement claims. The fact that so much happened after 9/11, the 'let's trade freedom for the blind fucking stupidity that the government that didn't see HIJACKED FUCKING PLANES and think PROBLEM is able to save us from the evil brown people who are statistically a lower threat than being struck by lightning while fucking Elle MacPherson', the incredible response of the PATRIOT Act, is fucked, certainly. There is not, however, reason to call anything but sheer incompetence on the part of the federal government even with the claims left standing after a moment's notice with the 9/11 conspiracy.

All of that aside, I can see why you're a little unhappy about getting lassoed into it by Mr. All Hat, and if it's any consolation about half of the people I know who actually know shit about world events are either leaving or running for major office to promote minarchy and reduction of government. Personally, I want to go to Sweden. Things just aren't looking pretty right now.

yep, i can see where your coming from, and i do agree that a lot of the points raised are highly far fetched. some points are a little harder to ignore though, such as those raised about the pentagon attack; it being impossible for the planes titanium engines to have disintegrated and the impossibly small hole that the 'plane' apparently hit. as i have said before though, i don't believe any of this 100%, just looking for discussion as i don't get to talk about it much with people who don't quote lines from 'The Sun', which is nigh on 90% of the British pop ('The Sun' being a tabloid newspaper famous for its topless 'page 3' models and breaking reports on celebrity sex scandals - so you can imagine the capacity its readers have for intelligent discussion..).

i guess id just like to believe that someone just wanted to make money instead of a couple of guys killing hundreds of people including themselves because they hated the country those people just happened to have been born in. the later seems a lot less human to me and the former sounding just like every human being i know.

(by the by, i am not too beefed out over the UK going to war now, whats done is done, i am beefed over the mistakes still being made, mainly Britain not calling it quits and leaving. just wish they hadn't b-s'd for so long about the 'weapons of mass destruction'. i personally would have been content with a 'that guy is murdering people, so we are going to stop him'.)

No, there was actual debris from the engines present, along with eyewitness confirmation that it was in fact a 757. The hole size is understated frequently, and the statement about there not being enough debris is one of those cases where they're just lying out of their asses.

Now, don't get this wrong - this event was used to bring gobs of money to certain people, but you have to keep in mind the lunatic ideologies that we're dealing with.

Thats an American stereotype.

Only in the movies :goggly:

Dude, it is WAAAY NOT a stereotype, though. I have 40 acres, where I live. One of my neighbors has around 1000 acres or so. Well, they've been known to engage in alot of illegal activity, so I see 'em casing their shit all the time, bringing in the drug task force and shit. They even asked me if they could put up video survelence on my land!:hypno: It's fucking scary some times. I've had my share of black helicopters, ya know. I should shut up now.

That's all that a car really should be, dude! It doesn't have to be a beater or anything, but people should just be more responsible about their choice of car.
yep - i agree.
i should have bought the cheapest nastiest car in england, the smallest house.

I have a cheap small car.
but like fuck am i going to save the planet by living without enjoying my money.
we give ourselves too much hassle in the west - nobody seems ever to mention how much india and china dwarfes the entire world with its pollution.

oh and global warming is a sham - look into it - the rich want another means of taxation - "GREEN TAX" ie - what do most free people do the most - use electric and drive there cars.

Thios big guitar rigs spew out a lot of c02 - maybe we should go back to 4 tracks to save the planet:heh:

Ahhh...so I guess all the rich people got together and blew up that huge ice shelf at the North Pole then, right??? :hypno:

No argument that China, India, Mexico, and many others are pretty bad, but be careful when you say global warming is a sham. It's certainly not as bad as Al Gore would have us think, but saying it's a sham is as much a disservice to the truth as Gore's exaggerations. There is no question among the people actually qualified to speak of this (can't recall what they're called... polit... no, perhaps hippi... no... oh, that's right, SCIENTISTS! Yeah, those guys! The ones who actually know things!) that we're causing problems. Nobody's calling for you to take on misery for the world, that statement is more of an issue for Americans, where people compensating for something decide they have to get an H3 and 7 gallons to the mile because it's the cool thing to do. Proclaiming that the issue came about because of rich people wanting more taxes is fucking nuts, especially given that they use electricity and drive too. The carbon dioxide issue has as much to do with massive deforestation as anything else, and if your amp has emission problems I'd get that thing looked at.

I'll keep it brief - Al Gore decided that 'In the light of new evidence and taking into account the remaining uncertainties, most of the observed warming in the last 50 years is likely to have been due to the increase in greenhouse gas concentrations… and the balance of evidence suggests a discernable human influence.' meant 'a clear and urgent claim', MIT was among many 'pseudo-scientific front groups that specialize in sowing confusion in the public’s mind about global warming', and that anyone opposed to him was as bad as the millions of scientists worldwide who rose up to defend the tobacco industry by saying that inhaling thousands of carcinogens was really good for you. The film took the legitimate question of human influence on the state of the planet and turned it into a smear campaign for his own political expedience.

Check those for yourself, by all means - I will not hide that I fucking hate Al Gore, but that does not make me wrong and I insist that I will not lower myself to his lying bullshit over issues he's not qualified to talk about.
