The 13th Monkey
We just chose it for a name, not really intending for it to have a meaning. Just a moniker to call our band that didn't need to stand for anything.
But to be more specific...When we were in the early stages of the band back in 1984, at the time we were looking for a name. A friend of ours, who also did all our show flyers, demo covers and eventually our first album cover (Illusions) was reading a Dune novel and found the name in the glossary. After he suggested it and we decided we liked it was only then that he told us where he found it. After we looked it up we still thought it was a cool name and didn't give a shit what it meant in the story. A deciding factor was that friend made a killer logo with the word. So it stayed with us and we've been telling people for almost two decades that it's only a name and not something that means anything.

I KNEW IT! or well i always had suspicions on it....
my thrash death band is named RYMID. It doesn't mean anything, but I choose the name cause I did a logo for it and it was cute...so I picked it...
