How's that for a thread title! :loco:

Here is a test of:
Saffire Pro24>Radial JCR Reamp>Maxon 808>EVH5150 50W>Harley Benton 212>SM57

I have a noise problem coming from the Saffire or JCR into the 5150, not sure what it is yet. Apart from that it is a great little setup.

I am posting it in the Equipment/Backline section because it is a demonstration of the EVH into the cheap HB Cab. I am really impressed with this Cab. I spent no more than 10 seconds on the mic position.

Please remember this is my first reamp in probably close to 3 years. :heh:
Backing track is raw, Guitars only have HP/LP, no other EQ. Didn't fade it out at the end either so you can hear the Guitars solo.

EDIT: Classic Rookie mistake, got too excited with my new GAS purchases and didn't reference any other mixes. I kept lowering the Bass on the amp because I thought it sounded better. :guh: Not enough Low end. Here is the only other version I kept with a little more low end.

Due to the overwhelming number of responses, I decided to show what this Cab sounds like with the Mic 100% on the Dustcap (not dead centre, but 100% on the Dustcap though). The clip in the first post was the other speaker with the Mic 50/50 Dustcap/Cone. No EQ other than HP-LP to show all the nasty frequencies that live on the Dustcap, warts and all.

That cab sounds great!
Thanks a lot for the clips :kickass:
I need to buy one of these as soon as i can
i also have an 5153 so this clips have been very helpful
im eager to hear more clips from you ;)

@Zero This cab is pretty damn good for the price. It's not a Mesa, but I am extremely happy with it.

@outloaf The amp is great. Amazing at low volume also. I went to reamp your DI's, but I don't have any drum software to make a backing track. If you could PM me a backing track, I will give them a shot for you.

@akbeda Please see below for the settings for the latest, I didn't record the settings for the other examples.

Thanks for the replies guys. Much appreciated.

Here is the latest clip with the mic mostly on the Cone, just covering the Dustcap a little. The amp is dialled in with more Bass, Res, Treb, Pres and Gain this time. Settings were:

Maxon 808 (o'clock)
OD 9
Tone 12
Balance 12

Red Channel (out of 10)
Gain 4
Low 7
Mid 2
High 5
Volume 1
Pres 5
Res 9 o'clock

EDIT: Please ignore any pops/clicks in the latest sample, I was browsing the net at the same time as reamping. :dopey:.

My 5150 has a noise problem on the Red Channel. That is why I can hear excess noise in the background and at the end where the guitars end. At different positions on the Gain Pot, there is heaps of noise, even with the Gain pot down low with volume below 1 out of 10. Damn headaches. I think Swamba from here had the same problem with his. :bah:

thanks man! its almost how i have dailed in mine. besides i don´t use a ts in front of it. gotta test your settings and ts in front at the next recording.
