I've been working on a remix for this band (ex born from pain, neuk members..), and was kind of wonder what you guys thought about it.

On small speakers it sounds like the guitars are lacking definition (but i got them in a reeeaaly overgained and muddy state anyway, so it was kind of hard mixing them..)
And i have the feeling bass is pushing stuff away..

any feedback on anything welcome!

Anyway, my first observations:
-The guitar on the left sounds pretty good actually
-The one on the right sound muddy and overgained indeed but not shockingly bad
-the snare sounds killer!
-the bass is taking up too much low mids (+/- 400 Hz) in my opinion
-maybe take out some low mids in the bass and complement them in the guitars?

this is all based on a low volume listening, since it 2:30 AM here now

I agree with the swapping of the 400 area between guitars and bass... they sound meaty but thin at the same time... if that makes any sense to you...

drums sound pretty damn good.

vocals... are mixed in well, dont like the voice, though.

overall good mix.

Thanks for the advice.. i actually used all of it and i'm alot more satisfied now.. seems to translte better on smaller speakers i used a bit less heavy handed mastering (allthough its still pretty harsch..)

sounds a whole lot better! only now you're drowning the vocals a bit in the guitars. I'd say: take the guitars down about 1 db, the bass down 0,5 db and raise the vocal (only the one in the center, when they're panned they're fine) about 0,5 db

like the title says! and your right.. checked out some bands like hatebreed.. and they have there vocal up pretty high, ahwell.. you learn as you go on right?
