So far, "Into the Mirror Black" is ruling me six ways to Sunday. I love the fact that Warrel Dane sings with melody that actually varies once in a while (unlike his repetitive delivery in Nevermore).

I dunno, so far, I just think it sounds pretty genuine and European (as opposed to uber clean, techno, microprocessor driven with this American inherent fear of singing a melody).

What a controversial thread this will be. :loco:

hahaha....it's hard to take a side :/

so torn so torn. love them equally! [/lame]

chromie got the into the mirror black vinyl recently, its sounds soooooo damn much better than the cd. :headbang:

I have no opinion personally, although I really do like Dreaming Neon Black yes I do.

call up dead6skin6mask6 however, and he'll probably have a hernia or something trying to comprehend the idea that you're suggesting one is better than the other.

Into The Mirror Black > everything Nevermore released
(and Nevermore are one of my top 5 bands)
Dreaming Neon Black comes close, but "Into The Mirror Black" is untouched.
Its the best power metal album ever

I guess it's fortunate that we don't do random drug testing here at RC, cause all you all are clearly on the pipe. Listen you friggin crack heads, Nevermore >>>>> everything else. Dreaming Neon Black >>>>> every other CD.

JK, don't force me to start a "Poison >>>>> Hammers of Misfortune" thread!

I've never heard Into the Mirror Black, but I got Sanctuary's debut when it came out and thought it was a damn good album.

Oh my goat - I HONESTLY thought I would be run out of town by all you lynch mob klan members defending Nevermore.

Perhaps Nevermore clicks with people -- I've always had a hard time with them (never seen them live, so perhaps that makes a difference) and probably funnier still, I like their last album the best.

But "Into the Mirror Black" ripped my head off on first listen. :kickass:

@Zod - Poison >>> everything, including Britny Fox and Tuff

Yeah but Nevermore has the Politics of Ecstasy, which is one of, if not the most complex thrash album I have every heard. It just doesnt have the atmosphere or melody of Sanctuary, or Dreaming Neon Black.

But I dont care to compare them, they are both quite excellent, and a bit different. And yes the last nevermore album was their worst; the rhythm section was lost, and the songs were kinda of straightforward.

Into The Mirror Black is great, but overall Nevermore is the better band...they have the advantage of Jeff Loomis & Van Williams and they sound more advanced musically and their atmosphere is difficult to capture (I don't think of as being overly clinical as Jay does)...

I like things 'less produced' at the end of the day -- another reason why I thought Nevermore's last was so good perhaps. But yeah, slap something on to a 16 track analog tape and hear some messy playing with the occasional twangs and fret buzz, run it through some old valve amps, and I'm so there.

I've only heard Politics of Ecstasy and I've seen Nevermore live twice. Their stage show is quite entertaining, I'll give them that, but musically, they just fail to fully impress me. So much better stuff out there.
