I'm planning on catching the gals tomorrow night in Evanston WY if all goes well. Yet again an Hourglass gig is on the same night, but they start at 5 PM and Evanston is only a 2 hour drive from downtown Salt Lake.

Yes they played symptom. The show was great, but not without it's hitches, twists and turns. 1st there was no opening act and MoR didn't want to go on at 8:00 just to finish at 10:00. So, someone knew of a band that could get to the venue in an hour. None other than local offensive "rockers" PISS. The Maidens will remember PISS as the band that opened for them thier first show here in Spokane. The really, really, really drunk guys falling over their equipment and swearing. Well, they weren't much better this time. I think they almost succeded in doing something to offend almost everyone. Then came time for MoR. Just as Sara plugged in to go on she found, now don't laugh, her G string popped loose and she couldn't get it to stay in place. This was her main guitar and she couldn't use the second guitar because of the tuning. As a last ditch effort she borrowed the the PISS' guitarist's $50 PoS and pulled it off! She sounded great! At one point this guy jumps up on stage and bows in homge to her. I told her that she had a legend here. The guy from PISS said he'd never heard his guitar sound that good. So, kids, all things happen for a reason. Sara just called from Boise to say she found the problem. The groove on he nut where the G string tracked had a little chip that allowed the string to pop out everytime she bent a string. I got pictures I'll put up soon. Not my best work. For all the freakin' lights the Big Easy has, the light guy hardly used any that lit up the band. So, I messed with stuff like long shutter exposures and wierd stuff like that.

Great review Alan!!! That's crap about her guitar but what a trooper (no pun intended!!) to carry on with a guitar she wasn't used to playing!! I loved the bit about the PISS guitarist bowing to her!!!

Grinned, blushed and kept shredding. I was on the edge of the stage behind her atteh time buy couldn't get a good angle for a photgraph, but it was priceless, especially after the stroy I told her before the show about guy talking about the chick that rocked!Metallicat180 said:

I guess you've let the cat out of the bag, Alan. I was awaken up by her phone call Friday morning. It took me a moment to understand what was going on. (I mean, why was Sara telling me about her "G" string slipping off last night.LOL!)alanbirdsell said:
I could hear giggles in the background from the other ladies. I finally figured out what she was REALLY talking about. I tried to get her in touch with the local Gibson rep in Boise but I don't know what came of that yet.
BTW how are you doing Alan? Sorry to hear about your squirrel, that just plain sucks. I hope to get up to Washington some time in the next year, or if you are coming here let me know, I'll make room on my calender.
