Saxon Air Guitar Event

Taken from Sheffield Wednesday web site:

Hillsborough World Record?

This Saturday afternoon, we're asking you to be a Guinness world record breaker! At half-time in the Hillsborough match against Sunderland, legendary Sheffield rockers Saxon will be taking to the pitch and joining with supporters from SWFC and the Black Cats to create an official world record for the most people playing air guitar at one time - the largest air guitar ensemble.

And, as a 'thank you' to fans for being involved, the band have organised a special offer for Wednesdayites to see their one-off gig at City Hall on Friday 26th January. All you have to do is show your Owls season ticket, or your ticket stub from today's game, at the City Hall box office, to get your ticket for just £10 (normal price £15). Also now available on worldwide download is their new single, "If I Was You" - visit www.saxon747.com for more details.

At £25 to see the match , it's unlikely my partner or I can afford to go!
I'd only be going for Saxon anyhow, not in the least interested in the football.

That forum makes us look like we all speak the Queens English perfectly. And reminds me of the Macc Lads Live at Leeds (The Who), with the crowd singing " YORKSHIRE YORKSHIRE YORKSHIRE " Mutley replies "so you remember the Fcukin words tonight do you ????" *

*Obviously no offence meant to our Yorkshire posters

Great a bunch of football fans get in cheap. This is already backfiring.

Yep - us loyal fans that go to as many gigs as we can (including abroad!) get the "privilege" of paying the full ticket price, and a bunch of numpty's who probably don't even really like Saxon get to go in for £5 cheaper. It just keeps getting better and better, doesn't it?

i think that only fans of saxon will turn up next friday regardless of the £5 reduction , i mean would you go and see gareth gates if there was a fiver off the ticket price ........ whats going on chaps is that saxon have to start and be proactive if there want to get back to anything like the sucsess they enjoyed in the early 80s i remember them doing back to back uk tours and recording 3 albums in 18 months.. so this publicity will do ticket sales and album sales hopefuly some good
I mean do we really want to go to sheffield and see saxon with the city hall been only half full or less
personally i think that if saxon want to recrack the uk then they have to be on the bill at download in june.... thats how to show new fans what they are about..... mid afternoon or early evening with a good 60 70 mins then they will be reborn so to speak
