Yip it's definitely Saxon alright who are playing. Here's what it says on The Ferry's website;-
Event

In the 80's they were recognised as leaders of The New Wave of British Heavy Metal and today they are still going strong. The current line up is Biff Byford, Nigel Glockler, Doug Scarratt, Paul Quinn and Nibbs Carter.
Advance tickets £19.50 + b/fee. On the night price £21.
And I'm still gobsmacked that Saxon will be playing at The Ferry, it will be one sensational concert. And I don't think Girlschool will be the support at The Ferry cos on that date they are playing Paignton Bike Fest, so hopefully hopefully hopefully it will be Saxon + Blitzkrieg. That would just be fantastique!!!!! Please Saxon bring Blitzkreig to Glasgow with youse!!! £19.50 seems a bit steep for the Ferry though, was a bit taken aback at that price, but who cares I'd pay about £100 to see Saxon without even thinking twice about it.
Yes Paxoman there was a few problems at the Ferry last year with those damn noise restrictions cos that was why Blackfoot concert was cancelled cos earlier on in the day Blackfoot went above the permitted levels and the gig was pulled right at the last minute. I'm still raging over that fiasco. And there was a couple of other bands I was supposed to see there round about the same time, The Sabbath and Rainbow Rising and Man as well, and they all got cancelled but they were cancelled a few weeks before the actual concert, so I don't know if it was to do with the noise restrictions or it was something else. But the Budgie concert at the Ferry went ahead ok and so did HellsBells, so maybe everything is alright there now. Bloody well better be cos if I go and see Saxon only to be told at the door that it's been cancelled, I'd be suicidal and I'd end up jumping into that Clyde to put myself out of my misery.
