I read something in the paper today in regards to Guns and Roses releasing Chinese Democracy. I thought that the Herald Sun music jerno had been smoking crystal meth again, but on further investigation......Its TRUE!!!!

hitting stores in Canada on Nov. 23rd 2008 :kickass:

I assume it will be available here round the same time. If not it should be available to purchase from amazon around then

Not sure enthusiasum is the emotion I was thinking of.....maybe shock and surprise. I posted earlier in the year with the Dr Pepper thing and thought at the time that Dr Pepper was on a sure bet.

after 15 years in the making, I dont think anyone would be enthusiastic about this album, it will sell and get airplay on the "fuck me....its new GnR" tack

I got an email yesterday saying the title track was about to be released as a single. It's a start.

I'm with Blitz. The three songs I've heard are great. Assuming that they're the same songs that will be on the album and haven't been re-recorded so they suck, that is.

the title track which is that song "Chinese Democracy" isn't really that great BUT the song "Madagascar" off that album is one of THE BEST BEST BESTEST songs GNR have ever done!

I heard a fragment of the single and sounded like shite!

they ended up playing it against the 90210 theme and they sounded exactly the same.

it pretty much sounds as though it was meant to be released 10 years ago.

that isn't a good thing.

Now I know it's going to be massively shit.
When the manager pulls out stuff such as this:

GUNS N' ROSES' manager has likened the band's long-awaited new album CHINESE DEMOCRACY to MICHAELANGELO's masterpiece on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
The LP has been 14 years in the making and cost millions of dollars to for frontman Axl Rose to produce.
It's finally due to hit stores next month (Nov08) - and Guns N' Roses manager Andy Gould insists it is well worth the wait.
Gould tells EW.com, "Art and commerce have always made strange bedfellows. When they asked Michelangelo to paint the Sistine Chapel, they didn't say, 'Can you do it in the fourth quarter?' so they can make their numbers. Great art sometimes takes time."

The songs I have heard (all 9) sound awesome!
I can't wait. This one will be HUGE!

i for one CANNOT FUCKING WAIT WOOO :)

prob gonna buy it asap when it comes out.

I'm pretty excited to hear it as well despite already having most of the tracks on the supposed 'final' track list but I definitely won't be paying a single cent for it. If there's ever an album I'll be proud to 'pirate' that will be it. I hope against all hope that it's one of the biggest commercial flops in modern music history. I'll happily burn hundreds of copies and hand them out to randoms in shopping malls and outside HMV/Sanity/JB Hifi/etc just to do my bit to ensure the cunt Axl gets a piece of his own back.

I have no doubt that it will be one of the years biggest albums, alongside Death Magnetic and Black Ice. That, however, won't make up for all the millions Axl has spent on it, and it will probably still be considered a financial failure.

Even those who have heard the versions that have been getting around on the internet for many months should give it another listen, as I have compared the streaming version of the title track to the versions that were leaked onto the net, and it certainly has its differences in the mastering. The vocals on the actual final version sound much more polished and in the mix, and there is other atmospheric shit going on.
