Fair enough.

By bunch of wank, I mean bands that play regular traditional heavy metal with lots of technicality, time signatures, and keyboard. Examples-Dream Theater, Symphony X, etc.

Avant Garde tells you that the sound can't be categorized, and thus, describes the music.

Esoteric - Eyes of Darkness



If you like doom/death metal these guys are fairly decent. I find myself listening to "The Death of Ignorance" when I just want some background music to chill too.
