Saying goodbye to 5150II

If you're losing the mkII, why not take the opportunity to by an mkI?
They record so much better, and sound so much better in person IMO.
 
Fair call, I suppose - different strokes once again. To me the MK1 is clearly a superior amp, every single time I've shot the two out side by side. It was also a clear winner to everyone else who happened to be in the room at the time. The original simply has more of that 5150 magic.
 
Haha, I can see the same thing happening to me and my bassist soon. We borrowed a 5150 II to do a quick recording in february and our mate hasn't mentioned it since. Not looking forward to the day he decides we're taking the piss a bit.
