Have any of you tried the Golden Age TC1 tube condenser mic? I went to a music shop today and they had a sale on a lot of stuff. It had probably been around in the shop for a while and they must've decided to get rid of it. Converted from swedish to US dollars, it cost me about 141$. Not too bad considering I was really in need of a condenser mic for myself since I've been borrowing one all the time when I needed one until now.
There is some "cheapness" to it though. I noticed one of the "bars" on the sides of the capsule was kinda slightly bent or arced but there were no signs of damage as in dropping it or something. It's not a second hand mic but something sure does feel fishy about it. The switches for the High Pass and the padding feel very cheap also but other than that, it seems to be really good. Gave it a quick try just to see if it worked and it sure did, sounded nice too. After a while the sound got warmer and I think it has to do with the tube inside of it warming up.
I also picked up a copy of IK Multimedia's Ampeg SVX for 28$. Not too bad at all if you ask me!
