Scream Vocals (Why do they hurt??)

Maybe 'cause you're only using your throat and not your diaphragm? You need to use your lungs and chest as well, dude, or you're going to do some damage to your vocal chords!
I do death metal and black metal vocals, so not really the same as screaming techniques in the likes of metalcore and deathcore, but the same rule applies.

Maybe listening to decent music would help. Trying to copy shitty screaming will only result in shitty screaming. Hell I even like some hardcore music, but at least listen to some of the decent ones. I've seen all of the bands you listed live and their shows are god fucking awful and cant play or sing for shit.

Learn how to actually sing in a normal fashion first. Train yourself to use your diaphragm instead of rasping the hell out of your throat, otherwise it will do more than simply hurt.

Wise. I spoke to my singing teacher ages back. Ultimately death vocals, even thrash vocals, will screw up the range and depth of your actual singing voice, it's grating the vocal chords, essentially.

I just layed down some drum and guitar tracks in logic and its a heavy song so it requires scream vocals, like that of Miss May I, TDWP, We came as romans, etc.
Well after about 5 minutes of doing it my throat was just killing me and it would honestly kill to keep going. is there a secret to screaming or do you just play through the pain?
-thanks

There's actually a band called Miss May I? How and when did "metal" get so feminine?

It's that kind of deathcore with all the young kids with faggot "emo" haircuts trying to be "brootal."

Atleast we still have stuff like this:
