Hi there,

a surprisingly high count of bands are asking me to add a subkick sound here and there... Well - I usually make a custom one myself, using Wavelab - a generated Sine sweep starting somewhere around 100 hz going down to hell - a transient designer and a bass harmonic processor (MaxBass).

But I am not 100% happy with the results.

Maybe there are some cool samples out there? Or tricks & tips?

What I am usually stepping over:

If you add a high energy bass-sound to your mix - and if you have to do a quite hot mastering later... This is always a difficult thing because the complete mix breaks down in distortion when the bassdrop comes ...

Thanks for any help!

Kickinwing65 on here was kind enough to share this one with me; dunno where he got it, but dude, if you want me to take it down, of course I will! Time-stretching and sometimes pitch shifting can help heighten the effect, btw

Thanks a lot, Metaltastic! I will check that out.

I will do a search in the FAQ's as well.. Mh, that forum is a quite big resource - very big. That makes it some kind of difficult to keep track - I am often away for a couple of months because of not-enough time.
