drumagog can isolate and catch the fast hits
for shitty drums in the past I had cut all the no-fundamental frequecies and and squashed into drumagog...it works well for kick (Lpf@100hz) and snare (Hpf@200 and Lpf where catch only the snare)
but is not the problem that I have now

yes the automation with the release is, for now, the best answer for me

you can cut the sample, triggering the fast parts on a new track with the shorter samples.
If you want to be totally anal you can try to calculate the lenght the tail should have to fit into the fast pattern, i.e. 16th for 120bpm should be 125ms.

I'd propably just cut the sample as soon as possible, to be able to use it for every fast part.
