But my fall classes start on August 21st...so that might be a stupid thing to do..When I go to Seattle, I want to spend at least a week there, and I know that won't be happening because of my classes.

that's really bad. can you just not go to classes for a day or four, w/out consequences (damn right, you can do it here).
interesting though that the fall classes start one month before fall actually starts. here they start at the beginning of October.
