Well, I went to the show last night, and I'd have to say it was amazing. It was in the hole in the wall dump in downtown Memphis that prob held 200 people tops. This place had no security, you could go back stage, and people were bringing in lots of beer from the gas station next door. The band basically hung out with the crowd while the warm up bands played, and some switched off selling merchandise. If I had to compare it to anything, I'd say this show was more like a practice session with lots of people watching. There isn't a stage in this place, so the band was down on floor level. The crowd got so crazy at times, they would surge forward and take out the microphones, and sometimes the musicians. I was in the very front leaning against/sitting on one of the moniters and basically repositioning Mike Beams' mic most of the night. At one point the drummer's double kick pedal kept slidingon the mat he had down, so he just runs out the back door of the club and comes back in with a big rock he found in the lot and wedges it against his kit. Funny part is, the band didn't know he had left, so they're sitting there waiting for him to count it down and they all just turn around at the same time and are like "what the fuck?" Those were some cool guys to meet though. They talked to everyone there I bet. Basically every person in the place started off saying "why did you come to the shittiest place in town?" The bands said that they hadn't played a show like this in a long time and they ate up every bit of it. Mike was like super hyper after the set. They actually seemed to like people in the crowd grabbing the mike and singing along and the pit surging up and almost knocking them down. I thought last night was well worth the 5 bucks admission.
