Sell Out

Dude Anthrax is the shit! Probably other than older Biohazard, Fishbone, Infectious
Groove or Groovies in the late 80's and during the nineties a band that had some seriously
good rap metal! There cover of bring the noise was great but then again I was a
huge Public Enemy fan during that time.

While I wouldn't go that far, I would say that rap is like drumming, there are no notes & it's not considered a musical instrument... It's in that grey area...

Do rap "artists" play instruments or is it just a bunch of dudes jumping around and talking into a mic??

If there is no human experience connected to the music, it doesn't qualify as music IMO

Actually that statement is completely Wrong ... there is Plenty of Human Exp connected to it ... Life in the streets, in the ghettos of america ... and some actually do Play their instruments and not all Steal other ppls songs and make them into there own ... IT IS music! just music I dont like, and they are not just talking into a mic they are rhyming, something humans have been doing for hundreds or perhaps thousands of years and is a practice that is done in most all forms of music that have lyrics ... maybe not in every song persay but it isnt just rap .... now to keep the record straight I hate rap ok, and you just made me defend it.... Rap is written by a certain segment of the population for that very same segment Just as Metal is ... Life is to short to be lived with a closed mind I suggest you open yours

JD, sorry to make you defend rap, i dont think i could do it with a gun to my head. :ill:

I don't like rap or country, there is no aspect of these types of "music" that I can relate to. I meant a "human experience" in the sense of playing an instrument, not the lifestyle that inspires the lyrics. I have yet to hear a rap group actually playing an instrument, are you thinking R & B??

Yes, I understand they are rhyming.. but 3rd graders can rhyme.

I'm certainly not trying to be an asshole, and not trying to start shit with anyone, but I just don't understand how rap is entertaining.

And, for the record, i am as open-minded as anyone, so you better fucking smile when you say something like that :Smug:

every once in a while i'll put on CMT with the sound off just to watch the hot little country bitches..... is that a step in the right direction??? LOL :tickled: :yell: :tickled:

I'm with Zomb on this one, nothing personal, it's just that I can relate at all with rap or pop it lacks soul/brain IMO.

I don't object country, just not my cup of tea, same with jazz.
