Sentenced ripped off Bathory

Doesn't surprise me, as Sentenced are about as original and innovative as the married couple that just do missionary position.

Plus, their brand of pseudo-suicidal rock fucking sucks.

I've been saying that for quite a while. You're definitely right, you can sing the lyrics of one song to the music of the other. It's not a 100% ripoff though...

Anyone ever listen to the intros of Hypocrisy "Roswell '47" and Carcass "Buried Dreams" side by side? Try it. :p

Dreamlord: Something tells me you have not heard the song in question. "Nepenthe" is a fucking great song, and Sentenced used to be more than pseudo-suicidal heavy metal/rock music. Try the albums before "Down", and "Amok" in particular.

I've heard them all except Amok, the newest one and their various rare EPs. North From Here was OK, but everything with that new singer is just horrible, especially Crimson.

OK, well, OK. Amok is generally considered their best, and "Nepenthe" is probably their most classic song. I've heard only a song or two from "North From Here" and let's just say I'm not going to buy the album based on that.

I'm actually going to confess that I like "Crimson" (the only album I have) quite a bit for what it is: quite solid, catchy heavy metal.

If I were you I would download this here Nepenthe video and hear/see Sentenced at their best.

That's the only one I have and I don't like it, which is why I never bothered with them. The tape only cost me $0.99 so it wasn't a terrible investment. :p

Heehee, yup. I've often said that Abducted picked up where Heartwork left off.

yep, i noticed this as well. i like nepenthe way more than under the runes though... but hey, i also love new sentenced, so what the hell :D

Yes, and they RULE (well, ruled I guess :erk: ). I have Twilight of the Gods, Blood Fire Death, and Hammerheart. One Rode to Asa Bay gives me a massive woody.

I love it, even have a framed print of him hanging on my wall at home.

Rudi Hurzlmeier, German absurdist (I think pretty recent). Moms got me the print some months back, said "I know you love crows and this one is wacky too, so there you go."

ANOTHER RIP OFF:

The first 20 seconds of Manilla Road's "Dreams of Eschaton" are SHAMELESSLY stolen from the intro to "And You and I" by Yes.

That is all.
