Seriously bizarre movies

"The Devils" [Russell, 1971].
"Inland Empire" [Lynch, 2006].
"Female Trouble" [Waters, 1974].
"Querelle" [Fassbinder, 1982].
"Showgirls" [Verhoeven, 1995].
"Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" [Donen, 1954].
"Un chant d'amour" [Genet, 1950].

Harmony Korine, Kenneth Anger, Méliès, and Peter Greenaway are fantastic, although ymmv w/r/t how 'bizarre' they are. "Persona" [1966] isn't exactly Jodorowsky-level surreal, but it's kind of trippy and pretty far-out for a Bergman movie.

Try Andrzej Zulawski's Possession, it is a strong contender for the most thoroughly "metal" film ever made.
I daresay that title should go to Béla Tarr's final film, "The Turin Horse" [2011]. Most black metal at the very least.
