Seriously? WTF

i love nu metal.

this track is shite though. I love the first 3 LB albums for the most part.
I think it shows potential compared to the other albums without Wes Borland. I mean, one can really tell Wes Borland is back, maybe they can put an album similar to the first 3 ones. Either away I don't think it's sell a lot, since nü metal has been replaced by metalcore :p

the lyrics sound so fucking stupid, and Durst sounds worse than he once did IMO

I have to admit I like the chocolate starfish album thingy

I am an un-ashamed fan of Limp Bizkit's MUSIC. Durst is a cunt and needs to douse himself in petrol, set himself on fire and then jump of a cliff.

I dare any of you to not be compelled to throw the fuck down to the breakdown in My Generation, disregarding Durst.
Srsly.

Also the guitar tone on chocolate starfish is pretty much fucking godlike

Their actual music is pretty fucking awesome indeed. Some of the riffs are really cool and intuitive IMO, and JOHN OTTO is one badass fucking drummer.

Because all those bands need money and they were relevant at one point... just like Motley Crue and any other 80's band that wont go away.

Just like Opeth and Nevermore in a year or two.. damn gheis wont go awei.

No praising Sam Rivers? Dude is really good bassist, and really layed the groove down for Limp Bizkit, to me it´s him and Otto who saved them, Wes Borland is ok, Durst is a fucking retard and Djs don´t count

I like all LP´s albums till Chocolate Starfish, I remember I stupidly got an Ep a few years ago, like the Truth or something like that, and it was total shit, musically and lyrically. Can´t even remember anything about it, thank god

Could be just me, but Chocolate Starfish is just too damn loud mastering wise.
I compare it to Hybrid Theory (I was never a fan of Linkin Park back in the day, but I got it last year finally, and honestly the album has some damn good rhythm playing, grooves and some tight as shit bass playing as well, as well as some monstrous production and mix for an album that came out in 2000) and damn, it sounds like it's being strangled and gasping for air and to me it has this annoying slight pumping sound to it that Hybrid Theory doesn't have
I'm not anti-loudness wars guy by any means, I like loud masters (Stabbing the Drama, Riot! by Paramore and The Way of All Flesh are some of my fave productions and none are particularly quiet albums), but shit I think Chocolate Starfish was definitely one of those albums that really set the gears turning for just starting push shit too far in mastering.

Also something I noticed lately, because now that I've got the albums, is the scary similarities in guitar tones between some of the LB, Linkin Park and Evanescence productions and shit some songs off Riot! as well (because AFAIK they didn't use the same amp for dirty sounds for all the songs on that album). Although Chocolate Starfish does seem to have a greater serving of lower mids/sub bass on the bass tracks than Hybrid Theory.
Even before someone tells you what amp is used, you just know it's that undeniable, awesome roar of the Dual or Triple Rectifier. I just love how those amps just slot into the mix so well with their mid range qualities.

Hah, I like the song and the production kicks ass. Good to know, I'm not the only one.

And the Chocolate Starfish album is awesome. I was in puberty when it came out, but I'm now listening to it, 10 years later, and I honestly think it kicks ass.

Oh and you gotta love the girls in that video

Man, "Break Stuff" brings back memories, I feel like an angry teenager all over

Hah just listened to "Boiler"...what's up with the snare? Is it pitch-shifted a dozen octaves up or something

And surely I'm not the only one who noticed the incredible relevance (and irony) of the song title? :D

I was thinking the same thing. I really like "Break Stuff". I have the first 3 LB albums and the recordings are great, but they would sound so much better with a more powerful vocalist.

I should hire some kickass rappers and record a cover album of their best songs and sell that shit on iTunes.$:heh:$:heh:$:heh:$ Maybe Durst will come ask for his money Soprano-style.o_O

Also something I noticed lately, because now that I've got the albums, is the scary similarities in guitar tones between some of the LB, Linkin Park and Evanescence productions...

I'm pretty sure Jay Baumgardner at NRG tracked both. Different amps or not, it's the same dude turning all the knobs.
