the gig was alright but i have seen them much, much better they didnt have any pyros at all ....the crowd on the other hand was great

It's sad that judging from other setlists, even if they had more than 13 songs they probably wouldn't play anything pre-2000.

they can fuck off with this abomination of a setlist.

I demand Moonshield... and Jotun.

Seriously, why the FUCK are they playing Graveland? Where's Moonshield? Where's Artifacts? Where's The Jester Race?

Where's fucking Lord Hypnos?

I would have thought In Flames would really encourage the trendy kids in their audience to pick up some of the older stuff...

I am seeing them on October and they better play something better than the setlists I've been seeing so far or I shall be rather disappointed. I really enjoyed the last time I saw them headline (2006), but at that time they were playing Moonshield, Insipid 2000, Episode 666, Colony, etc...

goddamn this setlist really sucks ass. and im even a fan of the new stuff. it really sucks a lot. it's disturbing, and i hope that november's set isn't as shit filled.

Is it true that In Flames almost got booed off stage at Graspop? Somebody was telling me that the whole band gave a really half-assed performance and the crowd got really pissed at the lack of old songs.

They should have been booed off at Bloodstock last year because they were absolutely dire. They were drunk, Anders forgot half the words, the solos were not played correctly, there was constant sound problems... absolute wank.

All the 16 year olds around me loved it though, cos they played The Quiet Place and Come Clarity...

a couple of comments on the Graspop forums re: In Flames

If at the gates underlined why they are so influential when it comes to melodic-death, then IN FLAMES show exactly why people have lost all faith. Any hope they had was evaporated immediately as they open with the horrific 'Cloud connected'. Fans knew what was to come, a set that featured barely anything from what can be called their best era. Many fans commented how the new album should be called 'a sense of ego' rather than 'a sense of purpose'. Which is understandable, especially when they only play three tracks prior to 'reroute to remain', and proceed to butcher each one. Closing out with the dour 'My sweet shadow' any hope of them rekindling the old magic is gone, and the show leaves an air of nothing but disappointment in its wake.

In Flames however were another band who left me cold... too much of the same in every song and too long a set. Yet another band who seemed to be going through the motions.

But its OK, cos people want to hear the newer stuff, right?

Are most of you new IN FLAMES fans?
Their set lists have blown for over 5 years now.
I would say the last half-decent IE setlist I have experienced was when they toured in 2002 with Iced Earth and Jag Panzer.

They've had good setlists (Turkey 05?) and the sets during the 06 tour were alright.

It's more accurate to say there hasn't been a good set in the last year and a half/two years.

The set list during their 2006 tour was really good. Insipid 2000, Moonshield, Behind Space, World's Within The Margin etc.

Does anyone have a video of Worlds Within The Margin live? I can't picture it in my head. Kinda retarded to play that song live, it would translate quite badly into a live setting I think. I really need video proof :D
