I went to the SEVEN WITCHES concert at Crocodile Rock in Allentown, PA last night. It was billed as an all-ages show with free admission. The WITCHES were also shooting their DVD, 'Year of the Witch'. SEVEN WITCHES went on around 9pm. At 10pm, a club employee got on the microphone and informed the audience that anyone under 21 years of age had to exit the building. I could see Jack Frost [guitar] on the side of the stage having a tantrum. The majority of the audience was under 21 years of age. Jack ran out on the stage and started yelling, 'This is bullshit,' and had us break into a chant of 'bullshit.' A few kids left but the majority stayed. The band came back out and James Rivera [vocals] was cursing and saying how much bullshit it is that we are the children of metal and they want to take that away from us. James said 'Fucking stick around, I'm not making you go home.' Two or three songs later, security started walking through the audience and finding who was under 21 and telling them to get lost. I was there with my cousin. I am 19 and he is 17. We stayed no matter what. I look like I can pass for 21 so they didn't question me but they grabbed my cousin by the arm and told him he had to go. So I walked up to him and I was like, 'Come on, let's get out of this hellhole, fuck this security asshole.' As we were about to exit we looped around and blended into the back of the audience and nobody bothered as the rest of the concert. When we were leaving there was a large group of 20-25 kids on the side of the venue throwing snowballs and rocks at the building also yelling curses at the workers.

Overall it was a great show and the set list is as follows...

01. Dance With The Dead
02. Apocalyptic Dreams
03. Metal Tyrant
04. The Answer
05. Johnny
06. Can't Find Me Way
07. Incubus
08. Metal Asylum
09. Warmth of Winter
10. Camelot
11. Nature's Wrath
12. Cries of the Living
13. Passage To The Other Side
14. Mental Messiah (with a portion of JUDAS PRIEST's "Victim of Changes" inserted into the end of it with Rivera covering Rob Halford's infamous scream)

Now this was a free show so whatever. I wonder whats gonna happen when Overkill plays here in a few weeks. It's obviously not a free show. Are they gonna kick kids out who payed money for tickets?

I just read about that whole fiasco, and I can only say that it's a good thing that Seven Witches fired their booking agent. That whole situation was a fuck-up from the start. To think that that was filmed for a DVD! I happened to catch them in Chicago a couple of days prior, and they were awesome! It's a downright shame that the tour had to end on such a sour note. My condolences to all who were kicked out. I really don't understand why shows like these are for audiences over 21. Don't the people who run concert venues realize that they can make more money and have a better chance of filling up every night if they open their doors to people of all ages?

I'm wondering why the under-21's had to suddenly leave? If the show is 21+, fine; most venues who book 21+ shows know it in advance, check IDs at the entrance, etc. If it had something to do with the DVD shoot, then that's pretty weird.

I didn't go to the fiasco in PA, had to work that night, but I do think I can answer Pellaz's question. I know in NJ some bars double as restaraunts and sports clubs. Sometimes after a certain time at night, usually around 9-10pm, they start telling minors to start leaving because the bars go into their "full swing." The situation at the PA Seven Witches show was total crap though. I am 22 years old and I remember how it was when it came to 21+ and even 18+ shows. Especially considering the fact people did travel from the tri-state area to go to the shows.

It was sudden to the band but not to the booking agent and the club. James was literally on his way to the stage when this Tammy Taylor told him that at 9:50 he was to announce that the under 21 people had to leave. James refused to do it so they made the band stop stating that the camera folks had to do something with their cameras. Then the club people made the announcement. I know this because I am a friend of James' and was right there during it all. I can also verify that this booking agent Tammy Taylor did try and take the bands merch money. Beware of this person who supposedly represents Universal Attractions.

Of course I saw the under 21 fiasco part of the evening but I missed this whole "attempting to take the money" part. What was going on and when did this happen? I had moved to the back where they opened the second bar during the show (I think that's why the under 21 had to leave...so they could open another bar inside the concert part of the hall).

Anyway, what was seen with the money thing? And what did this girl look like?

The person who Jack had hired to be a booking agent (Tammy Taylor) had basically told the merchandise people that she was supposed to get the money and someone else would pay the band back. She took off and never told the band. They did get it back when she was confronted the next day.
