Seventh Wonder!!!

This was the band I was most anxious to see, and they blew me away. Thought they had the best overall sound balance. Yes, the "prog wankery" quotient was very high, but that's what these guys do best and I loved it all. The bass player is a monster, and they all can obviously play. The singer was outstanding, too bad his microphone sucked a$$. I only wish they had some more energy, like a Vision Divine, but I'll let it slide due to everything they have to deal with up there. Bummed I didn't have a GB to see the private show...it had to be great.

Both shows were amazing, but the show in the Loft was mind blowing! I think it was opening with the 3 accoustic numbers before plugging back in that put it over the top. Plus they did all the songs I wanted to hear that they didn't do the day before.

I get the Dreamscape reference but I would definitely most closely compare them to their good friends Circus Maximus as they not only have the same style and sound, but made the same impact at the fest. I dare say that Tommy's vocals were the best CD to live replication since CM's PPUSA debut. Plus as everyone has noted they were very humble and approachable.

Shane or Nathan - please bring them back next year!

Seventh Wonder was the band I came to see...and they did not disappoint! What a pleasure and what nice guys they were! One can only hope that they will tour the US when their new album releases!

A friend asked me what my favorite moment of the weekend was. I told him it was during Seventh Wonder. Right before they started my wife Stephanie asked if I minded if she went and sat down with our friends. I said if you don't give a shit about them, go ahead.

I'm not sure how many songs in it was, but she managed to make her way back to where I was about three people back from the barrier in the center. Right as they started to play my fave song Taint the Sky and I started screaming about it. Afterwords I was like, You came back. And she was like, They are freaking awesome! :worship:

Later I gloated about seeing them a second time (my wife and friends were sadly goldbadgeless) and later still my friends and I got a pic with Tommy partying in the courtyard on Saturday while Stephanie was in bed. She was so jealous. :p

The only band from this years roster that I was truly sorry I missed. All these glowing reviews aren't helping either.

I can't stop listening to Waiting in the Wings now. I'm so jealous of the gold badge holders for getting "Banish the Wicked" and "The Edge of My Blade"... :worship:

"Tears for a Father" was freakin' awesome too... I get poose gimples every time I listen to it and instantly think of Saturday morning when they played it... :worship::worship:

Seems the obvious choice for Shane to bring back for the Showcase. They even won the poll for best performance at PPXI. A pleasant and reaffirming sign of the PP audience (or at least the PP forum members). What to you say Shane?

You mean of the 60 people that voted for them? Remember this forum is not the exact representation of the ProgPower crowd, man. That being said, I agree that Shane should bring them back next year. I want that real bad, so I can actually see them live.

These guys were the band I wanted to see the most this past year, unfortunately I couldn't make the trek. Their newest album is a masterpiece. Singer's got serious pipes.

I was very excited to see them, but their performance was WAY more than even I expected!! My favorite performance of Friday night and the entire festival and I would love to see them again!!! Not only were they all monster performers, they were all super nice too! No egos getting in their way!

I do have to wonder what kind of numbers they would truly produce if they were brought back for the Showcase. I know they would pull in forum members who loved then or missed them and are now wondering what all the hype is about. The question is whether they could bring in more of the general public to fill in the rest of those 1,200 people...

And to think a little over a year ago, I had not even heard of these guys! Thanks to Glenn for taking a risk and bringing these guys over! Glad I didn't blow them off because I had never heard of them. ;-)

You're talking about 'Mercy Falls', right (or do you have some big connections and did you already manage to listen to 'The Great Escape')?

Mercy Falls, yes. Didn't know there was a new one in the works, is there a release date?

No, not yet.
It will "be released later this year through Lion Music".
