i LOVE this thing... right now I'm using it to boost the signal of the gmajor through my Krank's fx loop...

i was using it as a solo boost before... this pedal is friggin awesome.

I wouldn't advise trying to use it like a TS, though... its just some clean gain boost...

I have use it for solos... Never as a rhythm booster thou.. I think its like a MXR Micro Amp pedal

Hmm, I can't really see how it would work for solos though, cuz increasing the gain before the amp is just gonna make the amp distort more, rather than adding any perceived volume (makes perfect sense of course, but I had to learn it the hard way when I got one of those EMG PA-2 preamp boosters )

Well i kinda like it when i used it... If im not wrong, Michael Amott used this pedal this way.. but im not sure if it was him or his brother..

ive never tried those preamp booster myself.. but a friend of mine had one and he told me they sucked big time.. maybe he was using it the wrong way idk

The Firestorm preamp in my Dinky is able to add up to 25 dB to the signal, so there IS a noticeable change in volume... but yeah, those are used best as gain boosts for more sustain/drive etc.

For volume "boosting" you'd be better off with a second master volume...

What do you need it for?

What amp are you using?

If you use it in the efx loop = volume boost

In front = more boost (to make those mid-gain amps high gain)
