i was reading 8sidor (http://www.8sidor.se/?page=42, see how the number 42 is back ) , and today's new is:

160 barn i Skellefteå
har svininfluensa

Sörböleskolan i Skellefteå
har drabbats av svininfluensan.
160 barn är troligen smittade.
Det rapporterar tv-programmet
Västerbottensnytt.

Sjukvården har inte testat alla
elever som blivit sjuka. Men eftersom
några av barnen har svininfluensa
är det mycket troligt att de andra
som är sjuka också har svininfluensa.

– Det är ett av de största utbrotten
av svininfluensa hittills i landet,
säger smittskyddsläkaren
Urban Kumlin.

Totalt går det nästan femhundra
elever i skolan. Men läkaren tycker
inte att skolan behöver stängas.

the swine flu is hitting Skellefteå very hard. 160 kids that go in the same school are ill. not all the chindren have been tested, but a part is considered infect so problably they have been all infected by the virus. but the teachers don't want the school to be closed.
i wonder if it's andreas' school (i don't know if there is more than one school in Skellefteå ).
is this the reason why he didn't reply to us in the merchandise thread about forum shirts? is he ill? i'm worried

Swine flu is about as serious as the common flu, so I wouldn't be worried. A lot of people have had it without even knowing, I might have had it the week after Wacken actually.

yeah that's probably a normal flu, but the governs are spreading panic into folks.

Oh, 8 sidor! I used to read that!! I love that fact that Sweden has a lot of different things available in lättsvenska.

Yeah, I read about this anyway. Pretty crazy.

A good page for you non-Swedes who like reading Swedish news, but aren't trying to learn the language is: thelocal.se

it's nice to read swedish news in swedish and it's very pleasant to read 8sidor, 'cause it uses very common words and you don't have to stop every 5 seconds to search a word on the dictonary.
of course there are some words that i don't understand and have to check, but they are 2-3 at least each article.

HOMG PANIIIICCCC!!!

I'm sure everyone is ok, everyone's blowing this strain of influenza way out of proportion. Where I worked was full of panic too, alcohol rub machines everywhere. Everyone afraid to touch hands, you can't live like that.

What you mean is that swine flu is as *bad* as the common flu. Both can kill you, man! I had regular flu in January, 2008, and I was bedridden with night shaking and high fever for a week. It can be scary as fuck!

No need to panic, but be careful. Someone died of swine flu at my school 2 weeks ago. The flu sucks!

here died 2 or 3 persons. but they had previous problems, one suffered from a cardiac disease, the others i don't remember.
but if i'm not wrong is not the influence that kills directly but the repiratory complications that brings.

Oh, it can kill you dead without complications. Remember that the flu after WWI killed more people than the war itself. I used to think the same thing since I had got it a bunch of times and it was like a bad cold. But I have no pre-existing conditions (unless you count being an asshole) and I should have been hospitalized last time I had it. It can be pretty dicey!

Look at that swine flu and a really serious thing I missed some friends who were infected in their jobs usually work with children and when I saw the news of this post really was very worried until the Mr.V has responded and I was more relaxed.
I luckily have by nature a immune system of a purebred bull and contract the virus but not moved from a cold that lasted less than 12 hours
Here in Rio de Janeiro flu has caused many problems but nothing more serious than an outbreak of DENGUE that we have every year
but as I said before I can afford to not worry because I have the immune system of a purebred bull
