I don't know about Skellefteå, but guess where the swine flu is hitting really hard? Seattle! And guess who probably has it?! ME!!!
The rogue visitor glomped on last weekend, and wow it is miserable. The fever broke already, but the cough is lingering (and painful). However, the worst symptom? The fatigue. OMG the fatigue. All I want to do (and have been doing) for the most part is sleeping, with an occasional bout of video games and reading things on the Internets.
(Ironically enough, we have the vaccine here, but not at my doctor's office. So I couldn't get it even if I wanted to. I got my Seasonal Flu vaccine last week to no ill effects.)
So, yeah. You don't want this shit, and I'd highly recommend getting the swine flu vaccine ASAP.
Yeah, I've done that too - but *I'm* not the rotting away from cancer. I am the one, however, with the possible swine flu.
And yes. I'll concentrate on not dying. That's really the top priority. I did get advice from my doc and braved the outside for supplies, so now I'm stocked up with chicken soup, orange juice, honey, cough lozenges, NyQuil Flu Medicine, and chipotle-habanero potato chips.
Sorry to hear about it, I hope you get better soon. A couple of friends of mine in the US had the swine flu as well, but they are ok now.
Aaaaaand, good luck with the side effects of the vaccine
few weeks ago i saw in the news that an absolutely healthy 14 y.o. girl had died because of the swine flu. She got sick at a party on friday and monday she was dead. This was the first time in the country that somebody died who was absolutely healthy. This was the first time i got a bit worried (i didn't give a shit before). They also said in that newsflash that 33% of all flu patients turn out having the swine flu. And that 50% of all who get sick (or died?) was younger than 25.
i'm not in any risk groups so i'm not going to get a vaccine unless the gothernment really tells me to. A week or so ago after Aurora Infernalis Fest i thought i got it from somebody in the venue (it was really packed there!) but oh well, it was really nothing
Other than ocassional news, life goes on as usual, i haven't noticed any panic around...

Yeah something like that happened in Canada to a 13 year old. It didn't happen to the woman who was eaten by coyotes, though.
I always get a bit paranoid because I have diabetes and asthma, so if I get the swine flu, bye bye Defiance . But I wonder how much is an exaggeration from the media, how much from the government, and how much is just Novartis trying to make more .
I think it's all a conspiracy because of the crisis: Everything was fine, then PUM! Swine flu appears, everyone gets all paranoid and starts buying cleaning/health products (anti-bacterial soap, etc.) and so the companies make a lot of money. I don't know what's real or what's a masquerade.
funny that novartis has an industry right in my region, Tuscany, and we don't have the vaccine yet
the fact is that a lot of italians are refusing to do the vaccine because you have to sign a document to accept all the risks (thing that doesn't happens with the regular flu-vaccine), so people are getting scared and paranoid about this.
:zombie: wow, so it's pretty much self-explanatory: "We'll cure you of the H1N1, but we're not sure of the side effects. Heck, you may get Cancer but you can't do a thing. HAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Here the company tried the vaccine on 750 people, and they won't give it to the country for free. D'oh, obvious.
They're not totally evil, they give my mom her Gleevec (a pill for the strange Cancer that she has) for free.
And I was once in Switzerland and passed by the main headquarters, you can really tell where all the money goes.
so how are you doing there? already getting a bit better i hope?Yup - talk to your doctor for more info. And where to get the vaccines.
i googled and i discovered that the norvatis industry here is the only one in the country that makes vaccines, so in case of need, i'm gonna do a robbery
so how are you doing there? already getting a bit better i hope?
awesome.
