Were the JayKeeley's of this world turned off by the cutting, and so they simply didn't check it out? Or am I just wrong, and it actually sucks?

If sucks = kicks complete ass, then it definitely sucks. Wonderful album.

So I recently heard this album for the first time, and I was absolutely floored. I haven't heard any other Shining. How do the earlier albums compare? If I thoroughly enjoyed this one, would you recommend I just blind buy the older ones?

All of what I've heard has been good shyt mang.

They have all been quite good. The earlier material is much more aligned with the common Burzum comparisons than the later material, which is more...uh...upbeat, I guess. This project can do no wrong by me.

Yeah, this album rules. I don't know anything about their 'off-field' problems and really don't care.

 

[Claws of Perdition]

The first two albums are very much Burzum inspired, still quite good though. The third is still much the same but with a hint of change and the last two are quite a bit different much more progressive for lack of a better word. I've liked this band for quite some time... hence my screen name...

never heard em, but the lead singer's publicity stunts turn me off. i put them in the same category as velvet cacoon
