No idea on this one , if either smash the other I would not be surprised .

With a gun to my head I say Shogun's experience gives him the edge

but Jones inexperience could help him too at this point he feels invincible .

Jones is also huge at the weight ...

^ thats what you call sitting on the fence !

shogun hand down jones hasnt been truely tested yet and if theres one person you really dont want to have testing your chin its a product of chute boxe. Jones has also claimed he will be looking to clinch with shogun, any real mma fan who watched rampage jackson and countless others get destroyed in the clinch by chute boxe guys like shogun and wandy will tell you this is a very bad idea.

I just hope Shoguns knee has healed! This will be better than Lesnar vs Velasquez!

Shogun should win this. There's alot of hype around Jones, and it's all pretty well deserved, but I think shogun is a better fighter all around.

If he swarms jones like he did machida, he'll KO him in the first round.

Last_confession I agree with everything you said 100%. You can't clinch dudes like Shogun.

jones's has also been praised for his unorthodox striking, again watch older style shogun, thes he only person ive seen throwing decent taekwondo kicks in mma and landing them with effect

man...this, like every other 205 title fight in recent years, is tough to pick a winner. i'd rather see jones win, but i think shogun will take it...it just seems like they tossed jones in there too early for the title, especially seeing how stacked the 205 division is. would've been nice to see him fight a forrest griffin/couture/rampage sort of guy before getting a crack, but hey who knows - maybe he'll be able to pull it off.

I think Shogun will win... Shogun defeated Lyoto Machida when everyone thought it was impossible to even hurt him.

shogun beat him up for 5 rounds leaving a so called elusive fighter covered in welts from thai kicks, then in the 6th round (rematch) he knocked him the fuck out. defeated doesnt quite cover it

It's too hard to call. We just haven't seen enough of Jones to make an informed decision. He's had really dominant wins over everyone he's faced, but hasn't been tested on the top level. He has a tendancy to get cocky and a bit showy too which you can't do against Shogun. It could go either way. The only sure thing is that this will be Jones' toughest fight yet.

look what shogun did when he first came to the ufc,, he lost to FOREST GRIFFEN , and almost lost to Mark "sucks" Coleman.... i think jones would smash forest and is gonna smash Shogun !!

By the same logic you could say the St. Pierre shouldn't of been able to beat koscheck the first time cause he lost to that fucking dummy Serra. Fighters grow and shoguns grown a ton. He beat Machita twice regardless of the actual decision, and machita is a machine.

I Think it will be close, but as has been said before, jones hasn't really been tested yet!

horrible analysis:u-huh:

Bones will undoubtedly take Shogun down, and will likely give him problems there. I think this will be his main plan of action, but I don't think Bones will quite finish there though, due to Shoguns own ground skills and experience. Shogun will be able to deal with Bones' clinch knees on the feet and likely will not succumb to the flashy spinning elbows and kicks.

I think Bones will take a decision victory via takedowns and ground work. I am pulling for Shogun, but I don't know if he will be able to control Bones' speed and power.
