Yes, you can. After upgrade you will not have a SX3 and a C5 license like you might expect, but only one Cubase 5 license. However, the C5 license allows you to run older Versions of the programs as well (SX1 through C5, in fact).

Oh fuck, I think it's time to update my good old Cubase.

Notice the Quantize? Cheating has come a long way...

Its Midi sequencer roots have always been a strong point of Cuby-Doo.

I finally ponied up the dosh and upgraded to Cubase 5 today as well, been using SX3 for several years, figured it was about time for an upgrade, must say I'm very very happy with it thus far, given the limited time I've played with it, FX routing and tempo track in the main project window make life infinitely easier! Of course I'm yet to do any intense recording/mixing projects with it, as I just got it, have had some issues loading some older projects from SX3 correctly, load fine but no sound on playback, same plugins work fine on a fresh project file...... Could be a Windows 7 issue however

*edit, turns out it just didn't assign the output bus from the SX3 projects to anything, reassigned it to my interfaces outputs via VST connections menu and all SX3 projects working like a charm.
