Get two very different guitars, put the same pickups on them. They'll sound Different. I guess its a matter of preference though.

Its not like I'm going to be as particular as Erik here. I know fuck all about recording, all I do is record tapes of myself jamming through 1 mic. I would like to get some of that shit up and get some opinions on it. I guess my easiest option is to record the tape playing through a computer mic?

I spent $1500 on a Jackson RR1T. Its an amazing guitar. but its not worth it. just spend like 500 or so

my dollars race away really fast one way or the other, putting $1700 of them into a guitar is really just diverting them from things that aren't going to give me as much long term use and enjoyment. plus, you can always make more money. i'm not going to let that shit prevent me from getting what i want.
