Showcase Next Year...

Would be great to see:

Riot
Marshall Law
Cloudscape
Sacred Oath
Astral Doors
Hibria
Anubis Gate
Vanden Plas (keep tryin'!)
Saxon

Anything along those lines...

I personally think Virgin Steele would've gone over MUCH better if their sound hadn't been awful. It was a real shame. I'd like to choke the guy running the soundboard that night.

That's sort of what I meant. "Old-school" traditional metal sounding bands rarely have a good mix at ProgPower, and their performance ALWAYS suffers for it. Jag Panzer, Steel Prophet, Virgin Steele... I suspect Icarus Witch would have similar problems. I don't know if it's the sound guy's fault, or if the bands insisted on having their sound set up a certain way.

Heaven's Gate (...) get back together like Conception at ppusa 6

I would LOVE!!!!!! to see this as well -- in fact, I put a pretty big sponsorship bid on Thomas Rettke and Sascha Paeth's current band, Redkey. Unfortunately, this reunion is highly unlikely to ever happen at PPUSA IMO, because HG didn't make enough waves when they were around; they were a small fish in a big pond of power metal.

Cannival Corpse? :yuk: Carcass is wayyyyyyyyy better :p

Maybe if I can get Steel Prophet to finally put out their new album with Rick back in the band..... they could also be a good pick, they have not played for over 5 yrs!

Any of the following would make me very happy:

LABYRINTH
Vanishing Point
Eyefear
Redemption

I like the way you think.

Vanishing Point and LORD are really the only other bands that would be enough inspiration for me to make a trip solely on their inclusion, along with the now-confirmed Nocturnal Rites.

General wish-list:
Bloodbound
Astral Doors
Cornerstone
Masterplan
Hibria
Dragonland
Pink Cream 69
Jaded Heart
At Vance
Theocracy
Serenity

There's also a handful of bands who have all played multiple times before that I still have never seen and would love to, including Evergrey, Angra, Pyramaze, Circus Maximus, Vanden Plas, and even though they just played this year, I am still dying to see Royal Hunt.

and then 3 other bands - as much as I like seeing "returning faves/conquering heros" return to maybe have a longer set at the Showcase after an appearance on the previous Fest - I kind of want some new bands I havent seen before too.

Saxon for headliners Shane - then you can book Milli Vanilli, Nelson, Barry Manilow - it wouldn't matter.

NOTE: - I DO NOT have inside information that Shane may be looking to resurrect the careers of the aforementioned MV, Nelson or BM, really I don't heck I didnt even see him at the airport on sunday for the first time in years - so if any of those bands show up - it was NOT my idea :)

Nelson has returned..new album coming soon!!!! and I am not ashamed to say I like their music!!! some good albums over the years

Jaded Heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Astral Doors would rock as well!!! However, the Jaded doesn't really fit the mold here!!!
