The Trees are All Dried Out... is pretty damn good if you can tolerate the all-over-the-shop vocals. Impossibly tight and technical playing with melody and groove that is just a wee bit too spazzy for its own good at times but still rocks nice and hard.

Trees are All Dried Out is amazing; interesting, electic, diverse, and heavy as hell. New one, not so much; still heavy but more toned down to appeal to the metalcore crowd, IMO. I suspect that maybe Nate and maybe J would dig them, and nobody else on this board. Just a hunch.

I fucking love this band. Seriously. Here in the UK they're hated for some reason. I can only imagine it's either ignorance or jealousy.

I personally see them as a modern day Dream Theater, with the musicianship that goes with it. These dudes are still in their early 20's and they can play the arse off of pretty much anyone. They pull it off live too.

I fucking love them. Seen them live six times. The 'all-over-the-shop' vocals make a nice change from bands who are instrumentally amazing but then fuck it all up with monotonous vocals throughout.

Ah, yeah, I forgot Lee posted on here. Considering the awesomeness of most of the bands formerly on Elitist, I'm not surprised you like Sikth as well.

Am I the only one who thinks the new one is a huge letdown in comparison the older stuff?

Haven't heard Death Of A Dead Day as yet - in fact, I need to re-buy The Trees Are Dead And Dried Out... since my copy randomly disappeared last year.
