Simple ADAT question...

If you run the ADAT Out of a like an Octopre or Digimax into a Fireface or any other interface, does the signal still go through any sort of A/D in the interface or does it basically get sent straight to your DAW? Basically what I'm asking is will the quality of an ADAT signal be the same regardless of whether its going through a Firestudio or a Rosetta 800 to reach the DAW?

If it has been converted to ADAT then it is already digital, so whatever converted it to ADAT was what did the A/D.

Yeah that's what I figured, I was just wondering whether the signal was still affected by the quality of the digital path within the unit once it's been routed to something else via ADAT. Seems like it doesn't though, thanks guys

afaik digital path never affects any signal.
