I just completed a mix a few days ago where I used various simulated mic positions to achieve a sound that would give the listener the impression of playing outdoors without actually recording anything outdoors.
I'm pretty happy with how everything turned out (which is a rarity for me) but was looking for some feedback if anyone has any.
