Singer of Drowning Pool found dead.

That's different.

If you were a big fan of Chuck, then your life was somewhat influenced by him and his music. Therefore, his death would be a personal issue to you.

That can apply to the freakin milk man.

I was pretty pissed when Layne Staley died. It was inevitable, but I wish AIC could have reunited.

Wish they could have gotten back together but I think Layne wanted to die myself.

Yeah but with compassion for "life" in general it is a totally different thing than it being about a singular feeling towards who died. Doesn't matter who it is. It's about being man enough to not let your own tough cynical facade get in the way of showing some sense of humility. It's definitely not about weeping or taking your precious time to feel for another. I mean that would leave yourself out in some way. Right? I'm sorry I brought it up but I didn't realize it's such a outlandish idea over the thought of having some feeling of somber because of a death. Sure we can't have remorse for human life thats deleted every second. Thats just to general and tougher to grasp but knowing your own mortality and that you're still here is something to cherrish and not take for granted, paying homage to that with a simple split second sigh to a death isn't going to hurt you, if anything it will only make you better eternally.

take care , JAH

Hey, death sucks no matter which form it takes. I *do* have compassion, but it has to mean something to me or people in my life. But why should I give a shit if the lead singer from Drowning Pool has died? I agree with those who say they didn't know him, he didn't mean anything to them, etc. THOUSANDS of people die every day of the year. If you're SO attuned to the emotions of the world, you must go near insane from all the morbidness around you, no?

From Blabbermouth.net:
Although presently unconfirmed, sources close to the band believe that Williams may have died from complications resulting after the consumption of excessive amounts of alcohol.

Williams was renowned for being a heavy sleeper, and it is believed that he died in his sleep, possibly choking on his own vomit.

I should feel sorry for this? Not bloody likely.

The rest of you can say or do what the hell you like. I'm totally with JAH on this one, although my opinion may be influenced by the fact that I met the guy at the UK Ozzfest and hung around talking with him for a while. He seemed totally down-to-earth, witty, intelligent, and generally a pleasant guy to know. He improved my Ozzfest experience by not being a arrogant, rock-star-ish prick, and respected the fact that although I wasn't a fan of his music, I appreciated the feeling behind his performance.
Rest In Peace Dave Williams.

Errr... yes. If you knew the milkman, then yes, it would be understandable to feel somewhat upset. I'm saying that there's no reason to be upset over the death of someone you didn't know and didn't influence your life in anyway.

In memory of Dave...
