Singing in a Band

Hey there is does anyone here sing in a band?
Did u get singing lessons?
Are they Helpful?
If not what are sum tips on singing

Actually, I wonder about robots.

i sing in my band, never had lessons, although i go sing along to everything that plays on my stereo (even opeth!) but i would imagine that lessons would be amazingly helpful as you would actually know what you were doing
when i prepare i just try singing along to some songs, then sing without the music, record it and play it back to check if im in tune, usually about 5 mins of warm up singing does the trick.

I sing in my bands, and I haven't taken lessons. I didn't have a great voice at first, but after about a year of practicing, everyone says I have a great voice. All you need to do is practice constantly...sing along to everything you can.

As for growls...well...(for me at least) you kinda have to train yer voice to do that...
