Hi all,

I've been writing a weekly metal column for Inpress Magazine called The Maelstrom for around eight months now and
every week there is a section called Six of the Best, which is a reader/local musician/international musician's top six albums, whether recent releases or all time favourites. I'm a bit short this week, so if anyone (or even all of you!) wants to reply with their full name and their six top albums it will be printed in the column this week.

I will use any and all submissions eventually! The only classification is that they have to be either metal, heavy rock or dark alternative albums (NIN, Killing Joke etc. is what I consider dark alternative if you're wondering).

And while you're at it check out my new band:

We're currently looking for a vocalist so if anyone knows someone who might be interested please feel free to direct them to the above site.

Cheers
James

Thanks for your replies, I figured who better to ask than the discerning metal connoisseurs of the Maiden Downunder board! Plus it's been a while since I've regularly posted here and I thought it would be cool to pop in again. You know how it is, always busy with other less fun stuff like work. Bleh.

Yours is in this week Rob and the rest will appear in subsequent weeks in order of posting. If anyone wants to add more, they'll all be used eventually!

I'll try and post a bit more often again. Good to see you are kicking on with The Deadthings Trent, I thought that bass player looked familiar :headbang:

And Goreripper I have checked out your site many a time, cool stuff!

Dan Wilds top 6

Carcass - Necroticism
Cathedral - the carnival bizarre
Mercyful Fate - DBTO
King Diamond - Them
Opeth - Mornignrise
