Slate Virtual Tape Machine

I love mpx as well, I bought it instantly. It adds another layer of analog emulation that brings warmth you cannot add otherwise. It's easy to overuse though, just like VCC and similar things.

Kramer MPX is always here or there when I mix. I also use it sometimes for mastering. Love it! Really interested in that new one by Slate tho as I have and dig every of his plugins...

I met Slate recently at an event in LA, and he was very excited about the new tape plugin. He said it will be "different" than any of the other tape plugins out there. If it's "different" like VCC and FG-X, we have a lot to look forward to.

Does anyone else ever envision a breaking bad-esque relationship between Steve and Fabrice? Like a Walt/Gus kinda vibe?

Hahah, Fabrice designs everything, Steven puts dragons and Ed Hardy shit all over it.

I'm surprised they didn't name this plugin "Fuck you Waves"

"Fuck You Waves" was the runner up to "Virtual Tape Machines" actually...

The relationship between Fabrice and I is more like Abbot and Costello. We've inadvertently done the "Whose On First" bit several times already.

This Tape Plugin is gonna be a Universe Changer. I'm pretty sure that can't be topped so that's what I'm going with.

Cheers,
Steven

Best official statement ever :D

Looking forward to this one, Steven! I consider VCC to be the best plugin investment I have made, because I have used it on every single thing I've mixed since I got it. It just always sounds better with than without. So if this plugin is a quality-match....well, let's just say I will be having console AND tapewarmth on everything from now on.

Sometimes I ask myself if I am the only that isn't into tape sound at all.
I mean I like console sound and tube sound.. Maybe I just heard cheap tape recordings but mostly I don't like the effect tape has.
But of course I would like to be proven wrong :)

This tape plugin makes tracks come alive. I've never needed less eq, less compression, and less EFFORT to just make stuff sound awesome. It feels like cheating. You'll all understand what I'm saying soon enough. Sorry for the blue balls but I'm pretty stoked on this one.

Cheers,
Steven
